Good source of calcium and protein. Contains vitamin A and B12. Higher in fat than some cheeses.

Good to know

Shred finely or cut into thin strips — never cubes or chunks. Cheese cubes and sticks are a choking hazard until age 4.

Dairy is a common allergen. Mild flavor is well-accepted by most babies. Watch sodium content. Cut food no larger than 1 cm (about half an inch), and keep round, hard or slippery foods quartered lengthways until age 4.

Contains: dairy

Tip

Havarti's creamy texture makes it easy to eat. It melts beautifully in quesadillas and grilled cheese.
