What to eat when…

What Can I Eat When Nothing Sounds Good?

When nothing appeals, lean on bland, cold, easy "safe" foods — crackers, toast, fruit, yogurt, smoothies — and eat little and often. The goal is keeping something down, not a balanced plate.

Aversions peak in early pregnancy when smell and nausea are heightened. Hot, strong-smelling food is often the trigger, so cold and bland wins.

Cold/room-temp foods — they smell less.
Bland carbs — crackers, toast, plain pasta, rice.
Easy proteins — yogurt, cheese, boiled egg, smoothie.
Fruit — watermelon, apple, banana.
Small and frequent — a few bites every couple of hours.

Your prenatal covers nutrition gaps for a week or two, so don't panic.
