Swiss Cheese
Swiss cheese can be introduced from around 6 months when pasteurized. Pasteurized hard cheeses are among the safest cheeses for a baby - they carry far less listeria risk than soft or mould-ripened ones - and this one is mild and naturally lower in salt than cheddar.

Include in sandwiches or serve with crackers.

Excellent source of calcium and protein. Contains vitamin B12 and phosphorus. Lower in sodium than many cheeses.
Goed om te weten
Shred finely or cut into thin strips — never cubes or chunks. Cheese cubes and sticks are a choking hazard until age 4.
Dairy is a common allergen. The holes make it fun but watch for choking on larger pieces. Cut food no larger than 1 cm (about half an inch), and keep round, hard or slippery foods quartered lengthways until age 4.

Tip
Baby Swiss has smaller holes and milder flavor. Swiss melts well for quesadillas and sandwiches.
