Red Rice
Red rice is a whole grain rice variety with a distinctive reddish-brown color and nutty flavor. It can be introduced from around 6 months. Popular in Asian cuisine, red rice offers more fiber and nutrients than white rice while still being gentle enough for babies when cooked properly.

Goed om te weten
Red rice is not a common allergen. It takes longer to cook than white rice and has a chewier texture, so it must be cooked until very soft or ground into powder for younger babies. Mixing with white rice can help achieve a softer consistency.
Tip
Soaking red rice for a few hours before cooking reduces cooking time and results in a softer texture. Start by mixing a small amount of red rice with white rice and gradually increase the ratio as your baby gets used to the texture.
